The on board LAN died after 2 weeks of owning this product. Initially I thought it was a software issue and uninstalled and reinstalled the driver. After that did not restore functionality I checked in the device manager and windows was no longer detecting the device. I contacted biostar's customer support to facilitate an RMA for a replacement board and was told that I would have to pay for shipping, and that the process would take about 5 weeks as biostar does not offer cross shipping, where a replacement is sent as you ship the faulty unit for repair. The solution was to buy a new network adapter as the board no longer had any way to connect to the internet. Biostar has forever lost my business.

This motherboard is not worth much, i am just about ready to call it a loss and just
throw it in the trash where it belongs. I bought a Gigabyte to replace the Biostar.

I like the three PCI slots. I was able to install my modem, a video capture card and an IDE adapter card. Boards now a days come with only one IDE socket. I miss the older boards with dual IDE sockets as I still have a lot of IDE drives. I used up three of the four SATA sockets, but have SATA to IDE adapters that I can use to convert another IDE drive to work in the free SATA socket. The IDE adapter card I put in comes with two IDE sockets, so I can still plug another IDE drive there as well. The driver CD comes with overclocking and bios update softwares which make overclocking and bios upgrade a breeze. It also supports my DDR2 667 memory modules that I pulled from the old board I replaced with this one. That was a plus as most newer boards support only DDR3 and if they do support DDR2 its higher MHZ than 667. That saved me from purchasing different memory modules. This board also has something I have never seen on a board before. It has a 4-pin peripheral socket on it that you can plug like a cooling fan or anything with a 4-pin molex peripherial connector that requires power, very unusual.
